Wayne sent his aluminum OEM cylinder heads and intake manifold to GHP to see what could be done to improve the flow of the rectangle port heads. After flowing and mapping the intake ports with a velocity probe, I felt confident that there was still room for improvement. While disassembling the heads it was discovered that one exhaust valve seat insert had a hair-line crack and needed immediate replacement. The heads were reconditioned and new tool steel valve springs were installed. The porting mods picked up flow nicely and the intake manifold was treated to a re-worked plenum to increase intake efficiency. Wayne's car is the 1/4 mile ET record holder in the F.A.S.T. racing class with a 10.59 on bias-ply G-70-15 tires.
