Our Buick 401, 425 Nailhead cylinder head assemblies incorporate port designs developed with extensive flow bench research and proven on the street and strip.
LEVEL 1 - Stock Rebuild
$1039.00*
Completely and properly rebuilt to better than original specification. Includes disassembly, degreasing and shot blasting, visual and magnaflux inspection. Vacuum tested 3 angle valve seat, honed valve guides, heads milled true, valve heights equalized, bolt holes cleaned with tap, assembled, pre-lubricated for startup. Ready for installation.

NEW PARTS include stock replacement valves, bronze valve guide liners, dual valve springs, valve locks, intake valve stem seals and expansion plugs.

LEVEL 2 - Bowl Ported
$1,399.00*
Includes Level 1 plus: Intake and exhaust port bowls are ported to valve seat and intake and exhaust valves are back cut.

Level 2 heads are recommended for a mild horsepower increase on a completely stock engine.

LEVEL 3 - Street Performance
$2,199.00*
Includes Level 1 plus: Stainless steel swirl polished valves installed in fully ported intake and exhaust port pockets. Combustion chambers are polished. Includes modifications to the critical short turn radiuses. Intake port opening is gasket matched. Exhaust crossover passages are filled with aluminum to reduce exhaust port turbulence and keep intake charge cooler. General port cleanup if required. Intake and exhaust valves are back cut. One intake and exhaust port is air flowed and results are included with heads.

NEW PARTS include one piece stainless steel swirl polished valves, bronze valve guide liners, dual valve springs, valve locks, intake valve stem seals and expansion plugs.

These heads give you the best “bang for your buck”. Because intake port velocity is kept very high, these Level 3 heads are highly recommended for heavy cars with mild gearing. Tom Kelly installed a set of these heads on his 1966 Buick GS – 401 with 2 speed trans and 3.55 gears and cast iron exhaust manifolds. Tom picked up 4 tenths in the ¼ mile with these heads.
