Stock Appearing Shootout Intake Manifolds

Blast down the ¼ mile in 11 seconds and still retain a stock ‘show car’ appearing engine. We specialize in getting the most from your stock appearing car. Our High Performance shootout intake manifold will help you get to the finish line quicker!

Extensive flow bench research has gone into these shootout manifolds. Factory cast iron or aluminum intake manifolds are modified (based on your cars requirements) to produce more HP and quicker ET’s, while maintaining the original pure stock look!

All makes and models are modified. Each manifold is specifically modified to address specific problem areas within that manifold. Intake manifolds are not created equally. Generally poorer flowing manifolds tend to have more potential for improvement.

Intake plenum is modified for increased volume and capacity. Intake runners are matched to cylinder head. Internal areas are modified to increase flow and help equalize runner airflow. Material is removed only where needed thereby maintaining intake runner velocity. Most manifolds have several intake runners that flow poorly in comparison to the other runners. After receiving the Gessler Shootout manifold treatment, the entire manifold flows more air and tends to be better balanced. Traction limited applications can benefit from internal intake manifold modifications that help move the engines torque curve higher in the rpm range.

Descriptions of porting modifications are general procedures done to many intake manifolds. Your’s may be different due to original casting design and your intended application. These descriptions are here to give you a general idea of some of the possible modifications to improve the performance of your car. All intakes are custom build for your own application.


FACTORY CASTINGS

Stock Appearing “SHOOT-OUT” intake

These intakes have been proven successful on 11-second street cars. 100% streetable. They incorporate a modified plenum and depending on your application may include a reduced and radiused divider wall. Intake runners are matched to head ports and recontoured internally to increase airflow capacity. Stock external appearance is maintained. Intakes are degreased, shot blasted and visually inspected before porting work begins. Ready to install.

Stock Appearing “SUPER SHOOT-OUT” intake

The SUPER intake is taken to the next level. Possible modifications may include: Boring of access holes in the under side of the intake to allow additional porting to increase airflow. Recontoured runners with epoxy or welding to help improve runner balance. Stock external appearance is retained. Recommended for maximum effort Stock Appearing engines.

Light weight option**

Intake manifold weight can be reduced by machining off the exhaust crossover from the underside of the intake. This option is for the serious Stock Appearing racer that is looking for every possible edge.

* All Intake manifold prices are with core exchange. Cylinder heads must be gasket matched to
at least the stock gasket size to allow for a smooth transition.
** Exhaust crossover passages in head MUST be plugged and sealed.
